Dennis W. Jouppe, 72, a resident of Hancock, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at St. Mary’s-Essentia Hospital in Duluth, MN, following a monthlong illness.
He was born on January 18, 1948, in Minneapolis, MN, a son of the late Earl and Ella (Scheffler) Jouppe. Dennis was raised in Minnetonka, MN, and was a graduate of Hopkin’s High School then attended Dunwoody Technical Institute studying Civil Engineering Technology.
Dennis was a veteran having served with the Minnesota Air National Guard.
On January 27, 1973, he was united in marriage to Anita Ruonavaara. The couple resided in St. Louis Park, MN before moving to Dollar Bay and for the past 20 years have made their home in Hancock.
Dennis was employed with Peckham Engineering until 2010. He then started Primary Airport Services and worked until his illness no longer allowed.
Dennis was a lifelong member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church. His faith and family were most important to him.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his sister Janet Ruonavaara, his brother-in-law: George Homola and his mother and father-in-law: Irene and Robert W. Ruonavaara.

A funeral service for Dennis will be held Monday, November 9, 2020, at 11 am at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church of Hancock with Steve Korpela to officiate.
Visitation hours will be held Sunday, November 8, 2020, from 5 to 7:00 pm at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church of Hancock.
All attending the services for Dennis are asked to follow all current social distancing guidelines.
