Obituary: Dennis G. Beaudoin, Sr.

As received from the Pearce Funeral Home:

Lake Linden: Dennis G. Beaudoin, Sr., 78, of Lake Linden, passed away at home, after a long struggle with heart and kidney failure, on December 13, 2020.

He was born October 5, 1942 a son of Claire and Gilbert Beaudoin.  He attended Sacred Heart and Calumet Schools, he joined the military, and later graduated from Hancock.  He enlisted in the Navy, and, transferred to the Marines.  He served in Okinawa, Japan, Laos, and Thailand.  Locally, he worked at the Community Action Agency until a heart-attack at a young age forced his retirement.

Dennis was married to Ambra Ambrosi on January 16, 1965 at the U.S. Naval Chapel at the Navy shipyard in New York. Ambra passed away on March 31, 2012.  Dennis and his wife had been lifelong friends of Che-Boy and Sandy LaMothe.  Che-Boy also passed away in 2012.  The following New Years, Dennis and Sandy went out to eat and the casino with friends, and met together again in February of 2013; and that was the start of a loving, friendship and relationship of 8 years between Dennis and Sandy.  Together, they enjoyed summers, sitting on the LaMothe Farm, watching the deer that they fed every day.  They enjoyed each other’s company, fishing, camping, and going to the casino.  They knew that when the end of life came for one or the other; each would be buried with their spouse of many years.  Even though Dennis had many health issues, Sandy stood, every day, by his side, to the end.

Dennis is preceded in death by: his parents, wife-Ambra, son-Dennis, Jr, brother-Robert Beaudoin, and sister-Pauline Butler.

Dennis is survived by: fiancé-Sandy LaMothe; children- Lisa (Charles) Westphal, Lorie (Brian) Smeester; daughter-in-law-Carla Beaudoin; grandchildren-Steven, Alexa, Joseph, Vincent, Jacob, and Jack; great-granddaughter-Aria Beaudoin; sister-Ann Schmitt; a brother-in-law-James Butler; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 18, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Linden with Fr. Joseph Boakye Yiadom to officiate. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 17 at the Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden.  State social distancing guidelines will be followed and masks are required.  Burial will be at the Lake View Cemetery in Calumet.
