Dennis Collins, 63, a resident of Calumet passed away on Thursday June 13, 2019 at his home.
He was born on February 20, 1956 in Tazewell County, Virginia, to George and Beulah (Sykes) Collins.
He attended the local schools and graduated from Honaker High School in 1973. Following high school, Dennis attended Southwest Virginia Community College where he received his Degree in Surveying. He was an underground surveyor for the Gunther Nash Mining Co. until an injury forced his retirement in 1992.
He enjoyed traveling to Virginia to see his family. He liked 4-wheeling, boating, and loved to talk politics. He was a good friend too many.
He was also an avid Detroit Lions fan and a Nascar fan.
On July 28, 2001 he was united in marriage to Arlene Johnson.
He was a member of the Foresters Club and the Keweenaw ATV Club.
He is preceded in death by his parents George and Beulah, and his younger brother David (Dee).

Per Dennis’s wishes cremation has taken place and private family services will be held.
A celebration of Dennis’s life will be held on Saturday, June 22 from 2-5 pm at the L&L Bar in Calumet.
Burial will take place in the Lake View Cemetery in Calumet.
