Debra Novak, 59, a resident of Calumet passed away peacefully at home on Monday February 8, 2021.
She was born on June 13, 1961 in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin to Lawrence and Sharmein (Walloch) Harris. During her younger years, she and her family moved to the Copper Country and she graduated from Dollar Bay High School with the Class of 1980.
After high school Debra worked as a Certified Nurses Aide for several years doing homecare and at Our Lady of Mercy Health and Rehab.
She enjoyed berry picking, baking, and spending time with her grandchildren, who were the lights of her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Sharmein Harris, her son, Clinton, and 2 brothers-Reuben and Curt.
She is survived by her children:
Amber (Aaron “Bear”) Reilly of Calumet
Jason Novak of Lake Linden
Ashley (Chris) Benson of Hubbell
Her grandchildren: Noah, Emily, Brooklyn, Deacon, and Tevin
Her brothers and sisters: Frank Harris, Larry Harris, Brian Joyal, Clayton Joyal, Sherry Hanner, Lucy Mauldin
And several nieces, nephews, and cousins
A graveside service will be held on Friday June 11, 2021 at 2:00 in the Forest Hill Cemetery with Father Gracious Pulimoottil to officiate.
A very special thank you to Dr. Bonnie Hafeman and the staff of Aspirus at Home, especially Becky Nordmark for going above and beyond in caring for Debra.
