Debra Lynn Blury, age 61, a resident of Calumet, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at the Omega House in Houghton, Michigan following a battle with cancer.
Debbie was born on October 24, 1961, daughter of the late Roy and Lorraine (Hietala) Lampela. She attended Hancock High School.
Debbie enjoyed drinking coffee, sauna, spending time with her family and friends and listening to the late Elmer Aho and the Country Oldies show.
Preceding her in death were her parents, grandparents, infant brother David and husband Eric Langley.
On July 23, 2015 she was united in marriage to Joel Blury. The couple recently celebrated 8 years of marriage. Joel faithfully cared for Debbie and remained by her side until her passing.
Debbie is survived by her husband Joel; brothers Kevin Lampela (Ester), Daryl Lampela (Jeanne), Glenn Lampela (Wendy) Dan Lampela (Laura); son Joseph and partner Melissa; daughter Kristen and partner Seth, daughter Charlotte and a grandchild due in February 2024; Step-daughters Jherica Hughes (Nick) and Raelee Blury and partner Joe, and step-son Jerrod Blury. Debbie is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Waasa Cemetery.
The Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers or other expressions of sympathy, donations can be made in Debbie’s honor to the Omega House in Houghton or the Beacon House in Marquette.
