Hubbell: David R. Perreault died on March 7, 2018. He was 51 years old. Born and raised in Hubbell, David, a multi-sport athlete, graduated from Lake Linden-Hubbell High School, where his considerable foot speed was outshone only by a quick wit and an easy smile. He spent most of his adult life living away from the Copper Country, initially in Wisconsin for several years before relocating to Florida, which became his permanent residence.
Early on David worked as a caregiver in adult group home contexts before shifting direction to work in the hospitality industry as a bartender, then beverage manager, and ultimately as co-owner of a neighborhood bar in Green Bay. After selling that business to escape the cold climate, the entrepreneurial spirit led to creation of a boutique gifts and notions shop in Jacksonville, Florida. When a local businessman decided to retire, the retail shop was sold and David returned to the bar business as co-owner of the Park Place lounge, which he had operated ever since.
David is survived by his parents, Albert and Colleen Perreault; his two sisters, Mary (Tom) Becia of Chassell and Lorie (Shawn) Len of Chicago; nieces Kaitlyn and Angela Becia and nephews Tyler Becia and Matthew Len; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins near and far.
A private memorial service will be arranged later this spring when David’s ashes will be laid to rest at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Our native son is coming home.
The Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden is assisting with arrangements. Online condolences may be left at pearcefuneralhome.com
