Obituary: David L. Hiltunen

David L. Hiltunen, 70, of Lake Linden, passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at the Omega House following a brief illness.

David was born February 22, 1951, in Hancock, the son of the late David J. and Eleanore (Gilbert) Hiltunen and attended the Dollar Bay High School.

At the age of 17, David moved to the Detroit area where he worked at Burroughs Corp. He then moved to Tennessee residing there for a period of time before returning to the area in 2010. Throughout the years he worked in electronics.

David enjoyed talking on his CB Radio and socializing with his Facebook friends.

David was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Judith (Hiltunen) Patana; brother-in-law, Clarence Patana; niece, LeAnn Patana; and a grandson, Benjamin Peterson.

He is survived by his brother, Scott (Tami) of Dollar Bay; his children and grandchildren, Scott (Beth) of Knoxville, Tennessee, Kymmie (Craig) of Richfield, Wisconsin, and their children, Sara, Kaitlyn, Molly, Megan, Kyra and Sadie; Trisha (Jeff) of Brandon, Florida, and their children, Haylee and Holden; Erika (Dennis) of Hazel Park, Michigan, and their children, Mina and Raistlin; and Eric, Jr. of Clinton Township, Michigan, and his children, Victorya, Trinity and Evan.

David is also survived by a nephew, Dylan (Tori) Hiltunen of Calumet; and nieces, Shelby Hiltunen of Dollar Bay, Katie Hiltunen of Superior, Wisconsin, and Lori Patana of Allenton, Michigan; along with several cousins and the many friends he has made over the years.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Omega House for the care given to David and suggest memorials be made to the Omega House in David’s name.

A private graveside service will take place at a later time in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Houghton. Arrangements are being handled by the Jukuri-Antila Funeral Home of Hancock, Antila Funeral Service, Inc. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at antilafuneral.com.
