Darlene Mary (Myers) Vuorinen, 76, of Eagle River, passed away at her home on January 16, 2023, after a long illness with glioblastoma.
She was born in Detroit on December 11, 1946 and moved to the Copper Country soon after. She graduated from Lake Linden-Hubbell in 1965. She worked at numerous banks and as a homemaker.
She was married to Urpo Vuorinen in Eagle River on July 29, 1977.
Darlene was a good cook like her mother and father. She did a lot of sewing and hobby work.
She was preceded in death by her parents and younger brother-Rodney.
She is survived by: her husband-Urpo of Eagle River; 2 children-Randy and Tracy; grandchildren-Felicia, Jaakko, Miranda, Sophea, Sonja, and Bryson; great-grandchildren-Isabella, Kaylynn, and Weston; siblings-Garnet Myers of Colorado, Patti (Gary) Edwards of Lapeer, MI, Joseph (Nancy Jagger) Myers of Arizona, and Jamie (John Allen) Myers of Florida; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public services. Spring Burial will be at the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Lake Linden. The Pearce Funeral home in Lake Linden is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be left at pearcefuneralhome.com
