Darlene Alicia (Isola) Wuokko went to be with her Lord on Saturday Morning the 28th of November, 2020, passing peacefully in her sleep. She was born on May 30th, 1941, to George and Olive (Rantanen) Isola, in Calumet, MI. Darlene attended Calumet Schools and graduated from Calumet High School with the Class of 1959. Darlene later graduated from St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in Hancock and worked as a registered nurse in Calumet for the next several years.
Darlene was a member of the Keweenaw Ladies Roundtable, Bethany Lutheran Church in Mohawk and then the National Lutheran Church in Calumet. Darlene will be remembered as a beautiful, kind, caring, very loving and compassionate lady, who always had her family and close friends in mind. Darlene was also very creative and was an accomplished painter, crafter, and seamstress. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially cross-country skiing with friends. Darlene lived in Ontonagon for the last several years until moving to Mission Point Nursing Home in Hancock recently.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, George and Olive (Rantanen) Isola Sr., her brother George Isola Jr., and sister Delores Marx.
Darlene will be greatly missed and is survived by her children, Ross (Shara) Sundberg of Portland, OR and Kara (John) Galbraith of Laurium, MI, grandchildren Olivia and Hope Stroup and Bradley, Nicholas, and Titan Sundberg, along with several nieces and nephews.
Per the families request, no services will be held at this time.
