Obituary: Daniel P. Lamson

Daniel P. Lamson, age 60 of Baraga, MI passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2022 in Baraga, MI. He was born in L’Anse, MI on February 12, 1962 the son of Howard and Marjorie (Raymond) Lamson, Jr. Daniel graduated from Baraga High School in 1980. He had been employed by the Ojibwa Casino in housekeeping and as a dealer, and then for KBIC Medical Center in housekeeping. Daniel was a member of Most Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Assinins, MI and had sung in the church choir. He was also a member of Keweenaw Bay Indian Community. Daniel enjoyed arts and crafts, fishing, hunting, and was an avid Miami Dolphins fan.

Daniel is survived by his loving mother Marjorie Giddings, brothers Robert Lamson and Jeff (Lynn) Lamson, and sister Ruth Lamson all of Baraga. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his father Howard, his step-father Gary “Poncho” Giddings, brother Howard, sister Jo-Ann, grandmother Marie Kemppainen and nephew Jesse.

A celebration of Daniel’s life will be held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, July 26, 2022 in the Ceremonial Room, located at the Ojibwa Senior Citizen Center, Baraga with Father Corey Litzner officiating. The family will greet friends in the ceremonial room from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m.
Immediately following the celebration of life, the family invites friends to join them for fellowship and a luncheon in the Ojibwa Senior Citizen Center.
