Dale Edward Stimpson, age 90, a resident of Portage Entry, Chassell, MI passed away on August 17, 2023, after a long, happy life and a brief stay at St. Joseph’s Hospice in Baton Rouge, LA.
Dale was born on March 4, 1933, in Saginaw, MI, the oldest child of the late Flave and Ruth (Inman) Stimpson. Dale was raised in the Saginaw area and graduated from Arthur Hill High School class of 1951. He then attended Michigan Technological University receiving his mechanical engineering degree in 1955.

Dale was an avid sportsman enjoying fishing and hunting; he was also a Detroit Tiger baseball and “Tech” hockey fan. Another favorite pastime was tinkering in the garage, repairing or devising something to solve a problem.
Preceding him in death were his parents Flave and Ruth (Inman) Stimpson, his wife Dorothy (Wiinikka), and his brother Flave “Tim” Stimpson.
Surviving are his children Lee (Ann Marie) Stimpson of Rowlett, TX; Sheryl (Tony) Dodson, of Baton Rouge, LA; Glen (Nancy) Stimpson, of Freeland, MI; and Mark (Diana) Stimpson, of Munith, MI. Also surviving are his 9 Grandchildren: Gregory, Sarah, Zack, Scott, Michelle, Marki, Chris, Laura, and Julia; as well as six great-granddaughters; his brother Don Stimpson of Louisville, TN; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to express special thanks to Dale’s wonderful friends David and Linda Kantola, and other good neighbors in Portage Entry that have assisted him in recent years.
A graveside service for Dale will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 6th, at 11:00 a.m. at the Chassell Cemetery with Rev. Soren Schmidt of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church officiating.
