As received from the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel:
Corbin Ross Crittenden, age 27 of Horicon, WI and formerly of Baraga, MI passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. He was born in Jackson, MI on January 7, 1997 the son of Steven and Tammy (Ross) Crittenden. Corbin graduated from Baraga High School in 2015. To know Corbin was to know incredible kindness, joy, and a carefree spirit who always saw the best in life and in everyone he met. He had a way of finding happiness in the simplest moments and spreading joy to everyone lucky enough to be in his presence.
Life for Corbin was a spontaneous adventure filled with the passions he loved most: playing hockey, gaming, fishing with Kirstie, or challenging others to cribbage or golf, where his “taking a 10” strategy turned every game into a memory. For Corbin, it was never about winning but the joy of connection and fun with the people he loved. Corbin had an infectious laugh and a gift for bringing happiness to every situation. His humor, thoughtful words, and calming presence made others feel at ease, lightening even life’s most challenging moments. His genuine care for others shone through in everything he did.
Family was at the heart of Corbin’s life, and his love for them was unconditional. His bond with his mother was extraordinary, a source of strength and love that guided him daily; he was her pride and joy, always showing his affection in meaningful ways. Corbin shared an irreplaceable connection with his sister, built on laughter, irreplaceable memories, and a deep understanding only siblings share. He was her biggest fan and knew her better than anyone. His love extended to every family member, making everyone feel valued and cared for. Corbin’s ability to bring people together reflected the kindness and love he carried in his heart.
Corbin found his soulmate in Kirstie Jean, sharing a bond filled with laughter, adventures, and unwavering support. Kirstie’s son, Logan, brought new joy to Corbin’s life, and he loved Logan as his own. Tragically, Kirstie passed away alongside Corbin, and they will always be remembered for the love and happiness they brought to each other and those around them. The void he leaves behind is immeasurable, but so is the legacy of the love and kindness he shared with the world. We will carry his spirit forward, letting his example guide us in treasuring life’s simple, but beautiful moments.
Corbin is survived by his loving mother and step father Tammy (Paul) Pruett of Baraga, father and stepmother Steven (Monica) Crittenden of Detroit, sister Courtney Crittenden (Timothy) of Baraga, grandfather Gene Ross of Baraga, aunt and uncle Nicole (Matthew) Roberts of L’Anse, uncle and aunt Murry (Nicole) Ross of Baraga, cousins Kelsey Ross (Cody), Kara and Jaclyn Roberts, and Nolan Ross and nephews Reed Geroux and Amari Lofquist.
