Obituary: Connie Lynn Sullivan

Connie Lynn Sullivan, age 65 of Alston, MI passed away Friday, January 13th, 2023 at UP Health System, Marquette with her loving family by her side. She was born in Ontonagon, MI on February 24, 1957, the daughter of the late Arnold and Joan (Myhren) Burke. Connie graduated from Ontonagon High School in 1975. She married Louis Sullivan on December 16th, 1978 in Mass City, MI. they resided in Alston until December of 2022 when they moved to L’Anse. Connie had worked at the Ojibwa Casino, Baraga as a security guard for 20 years. Presently she was employed at Bayside Village, L’Anse as a housekeeper. She enjoyed all of the residents and would do special thigs for them. Connie was a member of Mission United Lutheran Church, Pelkie. She loved to be with her family, especially her grandchildren. Connie enjoyed snowshoeing, camping, hot saunas, taking walks and hikes, picking wild berries, baking, cooking and the fall colors.

Connie is survived by her loving family; husband Louis Sullivan of Alston, children Jason Sullivan of Iron Mountain, Shaun Sullivan (Gina Magaraggia) of L’Anse, Jeremy Sullivan of Reedsburg, WI, and Kristin Sullivan (Chris Voakes) of L’Anse, grandchildren Josilyn, Sadie, Brodie, Demi, Gracie, and Bailey all of L’Anse, brothers Kevin (Jill) Burke of Greenland, MI, and Butch (Connie) Burke of Rousseau, MI, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jim (Brenda) Sullivan of Nisula, sisters-in-law Charlene Sullivan of L’Anse, Judy Sullivan of Alston, and Sue Sullivan of Alston, and special aunt Alice Kaurala of Greenland. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her infant sister Carrie Joan, parents and grandparents.

A visitation for Connie will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 18th, 2023 at Mission United Lutheran Church, Pelkie, MI. Funeral services, officiated by Pastor Kelly Ylitalo will be held at the church at 1 p.m. Immediately following the funeral service, the family invites friends to join them for fellowship and a luncheon at the church.

Spring interment will take place in the Alston Cemetery, Alston, MI.
