Obituary: Clifford Andrew Anderson

Clifford Andrew Anderson, age 78, of Calumet passed away on May 22, 2021 at home surrounded by family.

He was born in Laurium on September 26, 1942 to Abram and Aili (Maki) Anderson. He grew up on a farm in Woodland location and graduated from Calumet High School in 1960.

Cliff married Florence Kuusisto on July 31, 1965. He graduated from Michigan Tech in 1966 with a degree in mathematics and worked briefly in Seattle before returning to the Copper Country. He returned to Woodland in 1973, where he lived until the time of his death.

He operated a dairy farm with his wife and worked at Michigan Tech until his retirement in 1999. After retirement, he enjoyed winters at South Padre Island, Texas.

Cliff was a member of the First Apostolic Lutheran Church of Calumet.

He was preceded in death by his wife Florence on April 15, 2015, and also by his parents, his step-mother Helen, his brother Lawrence, a step-sister Sharon Liebhart, a granddaughter Annika Anderson, and a great-grandson Colt Anderson.

Cliff is survived by his children: Lisa (Jeff) Andrews, Dean (Marne) Anderson, Paul Anderson, Kurt (Laura) Anderson, Alan (Jen) Anderson, Craig (Sue)Anderson, Daniel (Corinne) Anderson, Lynn (Matthew) Berg, and Sarah (Bruce) Anderson. Also surviving are 74 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren,

his sisters: Priscilla Keranen, Virginia Erkkila, Kathleen (George) Keranen, Phyllis (Michael) Ramos, and Shirley (Dave) Josephson, sisters-in-law: Joanne Anderson, Ruth (Karl) Parks, Mary Jane (Peter) Haapala; and brother in law James Kuusisto.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday May 26, 2021 at 11:00 am at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church with David Taivalkoski to officiate. Friends may call at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church on Tuesday May 25, 2021 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, and on Wednesday May 26, 2021 from 10:00 until the time of the service.

Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery.
