Obituary: Clarence Busser

Dollar Bay

Clarence O. Busser, 82, a resident of Dollar Bay passed away Thursday, June 14, 2018 at UP Health System- Portage with his family by his side.

Clarence was born on July 25, 1935 in Dixon, Illinois to the late Clarence and Crystal(Tilton) Busser. He was raised in Dixon and graduated from the Dixon High School with the class of 1954. Following high school, Clarence worked for a local power company. He was then united in marriage to the former Betty Trouth on June 17, 1956. Soon after, Clarence enlisted with the United States Air Force being stationed at the Keweenaw Radar Base. He and Betty had moved back to the Dixon area only to return to the Copper Country a few years later.

Clarence was an entrepreneur having owned and operated many small businesses in the area. He was most noted for his business COB Construction and his partnership with Partanen’s Bar in Dollar Bay.

Preceding Clarence in death were his parents, a brother Donald, a son Michael, and grandson Mikey.

He is survived by his wife; Betty of Dollar Bay,

His Son; John Busser of Dollar Bay

His Daughter; Carole (Chester) Marcol of Dollar Bay

8 grandchildren and 4 great- grandchildren.

A celebration of Clarence’s life will be held at a later time.
