Clara E. Shute (Claire), 94, of Calumet, Michigan passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2019 in Tucson, Arizona.
She was born in Calumet Michigan to William Dwyer and Mina (Echlin) Dwyer on January 23, 1925. She attended the Calumet schools and worked for many years in lady’s fashion sales at Vertin’s Department store in Calumet. After her retirement, she spent part of each year in Tucson with her family.
Claire is survived by her husband of 50 years, Bernard (Bernie) M. Shute; daughter Terri (Longpre) Drielick (husband Tom); sisters Mary (Dwyer) Gravitter and Shirley (Dwyer) Abele; nephew William D. Dwyer and nieces Susan Lazzaretto and Lisa Mabey. She was predeceased by her parents and two brothers Robert Dwyer and Clarence Dwyer.
Visitation will be 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday March 25 at the funeral home. Funeral mass and service will be 11:00 am Tuesday March 26 at Sacred Heart Church in Calumet with Rev. Fr. Gracious Pulimoottil to officiate.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Ryan Funeral Home in Calumet.
