Obituary: Christopher Alan Loyal Turpeinen

Christopher Alan Loyal Turpeinen, age 17, of Pelkie, MI passed away Monday, February 17, 2020. He was born in Marquette, MI on March 11, 2002, the son of Crystal Anderson and Jeffrey Turpeinen Sr. Christopher attended L’Anse High School. He was a member of Mission United Lutheran Church, Pelkie. Christopher was employed at Erickson True Value in L’Anse for the past 2 years. He played hockey for the Keweenaw Bay Cougars and enjoyed fishing, hunting, 4 wheeling, snowmobiling and “wrenching” on cars.

Christopher is survived by his loving family; mom Crystal Anderson, dad Jeff and Kerry Turpeinen, brothers and sisters Samantha, Sabrina, Jeffrey Jr, Alex, AnnieMae, Noah and Jackson, grandparents Kathy and Theo Thompson, Alan Anderson, Bill and Grace Turpeinen and Marie Hess, aunts and uncles Liz Turpeinen, Shannon Anderson, Don Sweeney, Mike Hess, Austin Anderson, Elliott Hess, special aunt Pauline “Ding” Anderson, cousins Logan, Madison, Justin, Mason, Lauren, Jace, Dylan and Wyler. He was preceded in death by his grandfather John Hess, uncle Bill Turpeinen and his godfather Durwyn Chaudier.

Funeral services for Christopher will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, February 24, 2020 at Mission United Lutheran Church, Pelkie with Pastor D.J. Rasner officiating. The family will greet friends at the church on Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. Immediately following the funeral service, the family invites friends to join them for fellowship and a luncheon in the church hall. Spring interment will take place in the Alston Cemetery.
