Carol J. Roth age 65, of Baraga, MI passed away Friday, December 22, 2023 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital, L’Anse. She was born in L’Anse, MI on September 4, 1958, the daughter of the late Darrell and Jean (Soli) Giddings. Carol graduated from Barga High School. She married Michael “Mike” Roth at United Lutheran Church, L’Anse on October 6, 2007. Carol was a former member of the Baraga Fire Department Auxiliary. She had been a waitress for the former Bears Den Restaurant and had recently retired from Baraga Lakeside Inn restaurant after 25 years. She enjoyed baking, cooking, camping, hanging out with her family and friends, watching sporting events and was the biggest Minnesota Vikings fan. Carol was full of life, and had a contagious smile.
Carol is survived by her loving husband Mike of Baraga, children Bryan Perreault of L’Anse, and Krystal (Ryan) Mehrman of Eau Claire, WI, grandchildren Makenna Sullivan of Eau Claire, WI, and Jake Mongiat of Marquette, brothers Michael (Lisa) Giddings of Baraga, Steve Giddings of L’Anse and Ken Giddings of L’Anse, sister-in-law Denise Giddings of Baraga, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends including Diane Dillon and Carols dog “Sophie”. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Jack Giddings, nephew Trevor Giddings, niece Holly Giddings and many other family members.
Funeral services for Carol will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse with Father Corey Litzner officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. Immediately following the service, the family invites friends to join them for fellowship and a luncheon in the Harrington Gathering room, located at the funeral home.
