Candice Marie Rajala, age 41 of Marquette, MI passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2021 as a result of an automobile accident.
She was born January 24, 1980 daughter to Wanda Seppanen and John Kemppainen. Candy graduated from L’Anse High School in 1998, and went on to receive a Bachelor degree in Accounting and a Bachelor degree in Finance from Northern Michigan University. Candy worked at the Ojibwa Casino for a short while prior to moving to Duluth. She moved back to Baraga and worked at the Lakeside Inn. She married Daniel Rajala on August 5, 2011 and they resided in Marquette.
Candy enjoyed traveling and every day looked for a new adventure. For her doing something she hasn’t done before or trying new places always was a good adventure. She was into fitness and loved hanging out with her workout buddies. Her family was her pride and joy and she loved being a stay at home mom.
Surviving are her husband Daniel Rajala and Marquette; her children, Taylor Kemppainen and Isaac Rajala; brother Brian (Allison) Kemppainen of Charlotte, NC; father John (Shirley) Kemppainen of L’Anse; mother Wanda Seppanen of Baraga; in-laws Marvin and Carole Rajala of Watton.
Visitation will be on Thursday, July 1st from 2-4:00 p.m. at the KBIC Zeba Hall. A traditional Native American funeral will be at 4:00 p.m. led by Paul Halverson with a feast to follow. Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
