Obituary: Bret Pieti

Bret Pieti, 48, of Calumet passed away on August 1, 2021.

He was born July 11, 1973 in White Pine, Michigan to David and Patricia (Wanhala) Pieti. He attended high school in Lakewood, Colorado.

Following high school, Bret married Sara (Johnson) Pieti. He worked as an electronics technician in the Space Simulation Lab at Lockheed Martin in Denver Colorado for 16 years.

He was a member and board member of Ontonagon Hockey Association and a mentor of Ontonagon Gladiator Robotics Team. He loved gardening, music, snowboarding, hockey, and hiking and exploring the Rocky Mountains. He loved spending time with his kids and stayed home with them for the last 5 years.

Bret was preceded in death by his grand parents Eva and Jacob Wanhala and Irma and Edwin Pieti

He is survived by:

His wife Sara Parents: David and Patricia Pieti 

Daughters: Emma, Lydia and Tricia Pieti 

Sons: Matthew Pieti and Andrew Pieti

Brother: Marc (Bette) Pieti

Sisters: Sara (Dale) Mattson, Lisa (Greg) Opie, Kristi Pieti, Andrea (Stan) Johnson

Mother in law: Judy (Gary) Mattson 

Inlaws: Laura Johnson, Kevin (Melissa) Johnson, Brian (Carrie) Johnson, Emily Johnson, Hannah (Ben) Ruohonen

Various aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins

The funeral service for Bret will be held on Friday August 6, 2021 at 11:00 am at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church of Calumet with David Taivalkoski to officiate. Friends may call at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church of Calumet on Thursday August 5 from 4:00-7:00 and on Friday from 10:00 until the time of the service.
