Betty Jane Archer, 87, a resident of Hancock, passed away Friday, November 18, 2022, at the Canal View — Houghton County in Hancock where she had been a resident patient.
She was born on December 15, 1934, in Grand Junction, CO, the daughter of the late Archie and Faye (Douglas) Eachus. Betty was raised in Grand Junction and Great Falls, MT.
Betty was united in marriage to Wilfred Archer. The couple resided in various parts of the United States as Wilfred was transferred from Air Force Base to Air Force Base and they raised their children. The couple parted and remained friends.
Betty was proud to have been a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas for over 15 years. Since 2006, Betty has made her home in Hancock.
Betty enjoyed baking and writing long letters to her friends around the country.
Preceding her in death were her parents and her sister Carolyn.
Surviving are:
Her children: Glen (Ruth) Archer & Cheryl Lawhorn of Bellingham WA; Her grandchildren: William (Hailey) Archer, Nathan (Taryn) Archer, Ruth Archer, & Geneva Archer; Her great-grandchildren: Bill Archer and Walter Archer; Her siblings: Sharon Royce & Raymond Eachus; Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service for Betty will be held at 5:00 pm Saturday, November 26, 2022, at the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church of Hancock with Rev. Brahm Semmler Smith to officiate.
