Obituary: Bernd Lindeman

Bernd R. Lindeman, 60, a resident of Winona, passed away at his home Thursday, February 17, following a lengthy illness.
He was born on May 3, 1961, in Eisenbach, Germany. Bernd was raised in Winona, a son of the late Elvin and Eva (Ekkonen) Lindeman. He attended the Winona School and was a graduate of the Jeffers High School with the class of 1979.
Mr. Lindeman worked as a miner in Nevada before beginning a career as a heavy equipment operator for 30 years in Operating Local #12 and #324, working all over the United States and several other countries until 2019.
On October 25, 1992, he was united to the former Vivien Henry, the couple decided to make their home in Lake Linden to raise their son. On September 28, 2018, Vivien preceded Bernd in death.
Mr. Lindeman was a member of the Sons of the American Legion. He enjoyed being in the outdoors hunting and fishing, riding his motorcycle and visiting with his family and friends. Bernd love of music came from his father and was able to play the guitar, piano and dobro.
Preceding him in death were his wife, his parents, and his sister Deborah Anderson.

His son: Jason (Molly Koski) Lindeman of Lake Linden
His grandsons: Deacon Novak and Jacob Lindeman
Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
As requested no service will take place for Bernd and burial will be in the Woodland Cemetery in Winona.
