Barbara Jeanne Cooper 86, a local resident of the Bluffs Senior Living Facility and then at Portage Pointe in Hancock, passed away on August 18, 2023 at Saint Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. She was formerly of Farmington Hills, Michigan.
The beloved wife of 48 years to the late Kenneth J. Cooper, she was devoted to her faith and family and was the mother to three daughters: Allison (Greg) Schreiber, Meg (Frank) Dombroski, and Susie (Mark) Provoast; grandmother to: Ian (Lindsey), Alexander, Katherine, Olivia, Nicholas, Mary, and Madeleine; sister to Nancy (the late Jack) Trainor and Kathy (Ed) Hart, and sister in law of the late Carolyn Cooper.
A social butterfly, she loved to read, garden, and travel. Barb was the eldest daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Reis) Nowack, a 1955 graduate of Our Lady of Mercy High School and later the University of Detroit in 1989 and was a retired History and English teacher.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 15 at 11:30 A.M. with visitation at 11:00 A.M., at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 23815 Power Road, Farmington, followed by the Rite of Committal at Holy Sepulcher Catholic Cemetery, 25800 10 Mile Road, Southfield, Michigan.
