Barbara E. Anderson, 90, longtime resident of Lake Linden, currently of the Douglas House in Houghton, passed away unexpectedly, on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at UP Health System-Portage.
She was born on June 26, 1932 in Trimountain, a daughter of Mario Gianchini and Eunice Neault. She attended schools in Hancock.
She worked at a variety of manufacturing jobs. She was a home-care giver and worked at some nursing homes and at a laundry service.
She had been married to Kenneth John Anderson of Lake Linden.
Barbara was a great mom and homemaker, and a great friend to those that she came in contact with. In her later years at the Douglas House, she became an “elderly friend” with Little Brothers-Friends of the Elderly and she was very appreciative of all they did for her.
Barbara will be greatly missed. She enjoyed decorating for the different seasons.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by: her two sons-Kenneth Anderson of Niles, Michigan and Rick Anderson of Lake Linden; grandchildren-Ryan Anderson of Watervliet, MI and Aaron Anderson of Elkhart, IN, and Tyler Anderson of Madison Heights, MI; and special friend-Meghan Friske.
The Funeral Service will be at 7:30 P.M. on Wednesday, July 20, at the Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden with Father Joseph Boakye Yiadom to officiate. Visitation will be from 6:30 P.M. until the start of the funeral on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Lake Linden.
