Obituary: Arlene May Patterson

Arlene May Patterson, age 84, of L’Anse, MI passed away Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Bayside Village, L’Anse. She was born in Shawano, Wisconsin on May 15, 1939 the daughter of the late John and Lottie (Harke) Roth. Arlene attended school in Skanee. She met Anthony Kummerer in L’Anse and they moved to Wisconsin and married in 1980. They lived in Wisconsin until his passing, then she moved back to the area. On December 3, 1994, she married Clarence Patterson at Zion Lutheran Church, Skanee. He preceded her in death on 2011. She was a member of United Lutheran Church, L’Anse. Arlene enjoyed embroidery, sewing, gardening, playing bingo and Farkle and loved to do puzzles.

Arlene is survived by her nephew Tommy Rogers of Georgia, niece Rosie (Donald) Funke of L’Anse, cousin Wally (Carol) Roth of L’Anse, numerous great nieces and great nephews, other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Mildred, Raymond, Dorothy, Caroline, Angeline, Frank, Frances, Jack, Fred, Ardell, Robert, and her nephew Leo.

Graveside services for Arlene will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, October 16, 2023 in the Skanee Cemetery with Pastor Peter Suomela officiating.
