Anna (Klein) Vollmer, of Lake Linden, passed away at Portage Pointe in Hancock on February 21, 2023 at the age of 96.
She was born on April 25, 1926 in Hubbell, a daughter of Albert and Marie Klein. She graduated from Lake Linden-Hubbell in 1944.
She worked briefly in Wisconsin, before returning to the area to work for the Copper Range Railroad in the Houghton Depot. For 59 years, she worked as a bookkeeper for Kirkish Furniture in Houghton, until her retirement.
She was married to Russell L. Vollmer in 1951. He passed away in 1972.
Anna was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church and the Altar Society and she attended Saint Albert the Great in Houghton with her son. She also participated in Weight Watchers.
She enjoyed walking, spending time at the cottage at Little Traverse, and creating landscape paintings with oil paints.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, her husband, an infant daughter, and brothers-Bert Klein of Hubbell and Carl Klein of Stevens Point, Wisconsin.
She is survived by: her sons-John Vollmer of Lake Linden and Joe (Joyce) Vollmer of Lake Villa, IL; 2 grandchildren-Christie (Rob) Brezinski and Mike (Jess) Vollmer; 6 great-grandchildren- Justin, Josh, Nolan, Gavin, Preston, and Delaney.
The visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Friday, February 24, 2023 at the Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden. The Funeral Liturgy will follow the visitation at 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Fr. Raju Jose to officiate. Spring burial will be at the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Lake Linden.
