Anna Margaret Trudell “Annagret” of Calumet, Michigan passed away on Monday January 8, 2024, at the Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital located in Laurium, Michigan.
Annagret was born on January 6, 1933, in Calumet, Michigan to Wilhelm and Elsa (Kohler) Vogeler.
Annagret graduated from Calumet High School class of 1950. She received her education degree from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. She met the love of her life, Ronald Trudell and they were married in August 1953. Ronald spent 22 years in the Air Force, and they retired in Warner Robins, Georgia. Ron and Annagret spent 20 years working with Catholic Engaged Encounter. They traveled the world over helping to establish Engaged Encounters in parishes across the globe. While doing this work, they were able to have 3 audiences with Pope John Paul II, a highlight in they lives. Ron and Annagret returned to Calumet to live out the rest of their lives in her childhood home.
Annagret loved to spend her time gardening, reading, playing scrabble, berry picking, rock picking, camping, walking, and just being. In the summer, she could be found with Pa sitting watching the sunset along the shores of Lake Superior.
Annagret is preceded in death by her parents Wilhelm and Elsa Vogeler, her loving husband Ronald Trudell, her brothers Walter and William Vogeler, and her sister Karla Olsen.
Annagret is survived by sons: Tom and Dyhalma Trudell, Jerry and Pat C. Trudell, and Patrick Trudell. They were the proud grandparents to 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She was fondly referred to as MaMa by her many relatives. She was also known as Ma to so many friends and family. Annagret was a beloved aunt to many nephews and nieces.
Public visitation will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024, from 10:00 AM- 10:45 AM at the Erickson Crowley Peterson funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 12, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Church in Calumet with Fr. Gracious Pulimootil to officiate. Burial will take place in the Lake View Cemetery in the Spring. A luncheon will follow the Mass at the Siskiwit.
