Bootjack – Anna Elizabeth Miller, of Bootjack, passed away after a short illness on April 26, 2018 at the Lighthouse at Hubbell. She was just 2 days from her 87th birthday.
Anna was born on April 28, 1931, a daughter of Charles and Alina (Raisanen) Parsiala (also known as Parsiola).
She attended school in Lake Linden and graduated in 1949. From 1950 till 2014 she and her late husband Benhart lived on Miller Road outside of Lake Linden. For most of that time they operated a dairy farm, but in more recent years the focus was on hay, oats, strawberries and blueberries. She enjoyed visiting with relatives, gardening, picking strawberries, dairy farm work, splitting wood, saunas, and crossword puzzles (when there was time). For a short while both Anna and Benhart worked in Ferndale, Michigan prior to moving to the farm on Miller Road.
She was married to Benhart John Miller on July 1, 1950. They were married for nearly 65 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benhart, parents, daughter, Susan Marie, and Anna was the last of her siblings, preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
She is survived by two sons Benhart, Jr. of Bootjack, Ricky (Martha) of Slidell, Louisiana, two grandchildren Alan (Kristy) and Erick, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services were held with the Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden in charge of arrangements.
