Obituary: Alice “Deetz” Brulla

Alice “Deetz” Brulla, 91, a resident of Iroquois Street in Laurium passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Saturday evening June 22, 2019.

She was born on November 5, 1927 in Osceola a daughter of the late Edward Howard and Elizabeth (Polvi) Rogan.

She attended Sacred Heart School in Calumet.

On January 31, 1948 she was united in marriage to Albert Brulla and he preceded her in death on September 1, 2001.

Deetz worked at Sacred Heart Church as a cook and housekeeper for many years.   Her family,too, enjoyed her special meals; and she was always happy to fix them their favorites. She made each and every birthday and holiday a memorable event. 

Every Saturday was spent dancing with her husband until his passing .

She had a happy disposition and outlook on life, always waking up with a smile.  Many a good laugh was shared with family and friends while listening to her humorous stories. 

She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and served as a lector.

Preceding her in death was her Husband Albert, daughter Kerry Sturm and Son in law: Maurice Sturm, an infant brother: Paul, 2 bothers: Kevin and Norbert and sisters: Gertrude, Anne and Mary.

Surviving are: 3 daughters: Penny (Tom) Fulayter of Highland, MI, Debbie Hockings of Keweenaw Bay and Tammy Armantrout of Keweenaw Bay

Grandchildren: Toni, Stacy, Marty, Erik, Corey, Bobby, Jordan and Sarah.

Great Grandchildren: Brandon, Lainey, Griffen, Maddie, Trinity and Anthony.

A memorial mass will be held on Friday June 28, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Sacred Heart Church in Calumet with Fr. Gracious Pulimoottil and Deacon Art Stancher to assist.

Visitation will be on Thursday June 27, 2019 from 5-8 PM at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet.

A prayer service will be held at 7:30 PM on Thursday

Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery.
