Alden Edward Juntunen, 81, passed away on Friday, June 8, 2018 at Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital in Laurium.
He was born on September 24, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan to Edward and Eleanor (Koski) Juntunen.
As a young child, he moved with his family to Chassell, Michigan. He attended Chassell High School and graduated with the Class of 1954. Following high school Alden, enlisted with the United States Navy and was honorably discharged after 6 years of service as a dental technician in 1963. After the service he moved to Detroit and worked for Ford Motor Company for over 30 years.
Alden moved back to the Copper Country in 2014 residing in Calumet, and in Florida during the winter months,
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Paul A. Juntunen.

His sisters: Gloria (Dale) Randle, Sharon (Gordon) Congdon, Lucille (Wilbert) Rajala, and Marilyn (Paul) Kilpela.
His 2 aunts: Helen Lund and Ruth Emery
And numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, June 15, 2018 at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet at 11:00 AM with Pastor Ken Toth to officiate.
Friends may call at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
Burial will take place in the Lake View Cemetery in Calumet.
