Obituary: Albert P. Bruneau

Hancock: Albert P. Bruneau, 59, of Hancock, died on Wednesday morning, May 2, 2018 at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility.

He was born on November 29, 1958 in Hancock to the late James and Mary Jane (Nordstrom) Bruneau.

Albert graduated from Hancock High School. He then worked for Neil’s Taxi for 16 years, and also worked as an Iron Worker, drove wrecker, and worked on the fishing boats.

On September 15, 2007 he was united in marriage to Tamara Makela in Lake Linden by Judge Charles Goodman.

Surviving are his wife, Tamara Bruneau; his children Teresa Bruneau, Felicia (Chris) Carter, Russell (Candice) Bruneau, Richard Bruneau, Kayleigh Miller-Bruneau, John Makela, Amanda (Connie Lantto) Makela, Michelle Wanhala, Brittany Wanhala, and Christine Hill; his grandchildren: Tiara Bruneau, Emily Bruneau, Kimora Bruneau, Mya Bruneau, Carissa Carter, Aubrey Carter, Sawyer Bruneau, and Emma Carter. Also surviving are his brothers Michael (Gayle) and Jimmy (Flo); his sister, Kathi (Robert); father-in-law, John Makela; special loved ones Clarence Bruneau, Leslie Casteel, Miranda (Dan) Waatti, Jason Cline, Darryl (Ashley) Paavo, his God-children, Samantha Heider and Kelsey Roytio, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Albert was also preceded in death by a sister, Donna Wakeham and his mother-in-law, Delores Makela.

Albert enjoyed being around family and friends. He loved spending time outdoors and being with his dogs. He enjoyed hockey and football, especially the Detroit Red Wings and the Detroit Lions. He also loved fishing, going for rides to White Pine, White City, and Dollar Bay with his family and father-in-law. He will be missed by so many.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, May 7th at the O’Neill-Dennis Funeral Home in Hancock with Rev. Father William Ssozi to officiate. Visitation will be held for an hour before the service at the funeral home. A luncheon will be served from 2 P.M. until 5 P.M. at the Dee Stadium Ballroom in Houghton.
