Alan Edward Taipalus, age 58 of L’Anse, MI passed away due to Covid-19 on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital.
He was born September 12, 1962 in L’Anse, MI son of Edward and Joyce (Miilu) Taipalus. Alan graduated in 1980 from L’Anse High School. He played baseball at all levels, in Little League he was a pitcher and often was a home run hitter. Along with being an avid sports fan he loved his truck and being with friends. Alan worked at Fraki’s, Terex, Krist Oil, and most recently at Pettibone.
Surviving are his sisters, Carol (Erik) Mattox of Aura, Linda Taipalus of L’Anse; aunts, Judy Testen of L’Anse, Gloria (Larry) Klerkx of Interlochen, MI, Joan Kotcher of Escanaba; uncle Ronald (Cassie) Miilu of Mass City, MI; and numerous cousins.
Preceding him in death is his parents Edward and Joyce, grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
A graveside service will be held in the spring in the L’Anse Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the family at 1016 Shields St, L’Anse, MI 49946.
