Obituary: Alan B. Stockton

Alan B. Stockton, age 65, of Pelkie, MI passed away Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital, L’Anse. He was born in Morrison, IL on March 7, 1955 the son of the late Leslie E. and Ruth E. (Salzmann) Stockton. He graduated from Annawan High School in Annawan, IL in 1972. Alan proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He married the former Barbara Perry on February 8, 1975. Alan had worked as a logger and farmer. He was a member of L’Anse Baptist Church, the Pelkie Fire Department, Ottawa Sportsman’s Club and the NRA. Alan’s children and grandchildren were his world and he loved spending time with them. He enjoyed farming, logging, gunsmithing, going on many adventures with Dennis Jolgren,, fishing, hunting and being in the outdoors.

Alan is survived by his loving wife Barbara Stockton of Pelkie, children Nathan (Jennifer) Stockton of Pelkie, Joshua (Candace) Stockton of Mountain View, Missouri, Micah (Jamie) Stockton of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Theresa Miller of Pilot Knob, Missouri, Ivan ((Geleah) Stockton of Haskell, Oklahoma, Lempi (Robert) Lamson of Houghton, MI, Thomas Stockton of Summersville, Missouri, Cora (RJ) Beauchamp of Dodgeville, MI, and Alissa Robillard of L’Anse, 16 grandchildren, brother Gene (Pam) Stockton of Hooppole, IL, sister Marla (Jerry) Churchill of Carbondale, IL step-mom Ruth Stockton of Geneseo, IL and step-siblings Randy, Carla, Lisa, and Amy. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial funeral service for Alan will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, February 13, 2021 at L’Anse Baptist Church with Pastor Jerry Bishop officiating. The family will greet friends at the church on Friday, February 12, 2021 from 5 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday February 13, 2021 from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.

The family invites friends to join them for fellowship and a luncheon at the church immediately following the funeral service.
