A memorial service for Margaret “Peggy” (Caspary) Gasperich who passed away on December 12, 2017, at The Lignhthouse in Hancock will be held on July 2, 2018 at 11:00 am at St. Ignatius Loyola Parish in Houghton, MI, a luncheon will follow the mass in the parish hall, followed by interment in the Forest Hill Cemetery.
Peggy was born in Hancock, MI on October 28, 1927, to the late Simon and Hazel (Casey) Caspary. She attended Hancock and Houghton Schools graduating from Houghton High School in 1945. On March 17, 1947, she was united in marriage to John Gasperich.
Peggy is survived by her children Carolyn Gasperich, Ann (Scott) Pratt, Nancy Jarvis and Kathy Gasperich; three sisters Linda (Stanley) Archambeau, Sue Huff, and Joan Bowden; a brother Steve Caspary; and sister-in-law Helen Stimac; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, John, she was preceded in death by a brother Jon Caspary.
Peggy was a long-time member of the South Range Eagles Aerie, the VFW, and St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Altar Society.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Kathy Maki and all the staff at The Lighthouse in Hancock. They would also like to thank Doctor Bill Anderson and Dr. Liston for the many years of care they provided for Peggy.
