Leroy Stewart “Stewey” Seppala, 79, a resident of Houghton County Medical Care Facility in Hancock for the past 45 years passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2017.
He was born on March 15, 1938 at his home in Calumet to Arne and Ida (Paulson) Seppala.
Stewey lived at the Newberry Hospital and at the age of 33, Stewey moved to the Houghton County Medical Care Facility.
His family was the 2nd floor staff and employees at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Arne and Ida, his sister, Lyla Herstrom, and his brother, Howard Seppala.
He is survived by his sister; Melba Marx (Bernie Murn) of Calumet.
Sister in law: Marlene Seppala of Gwinn
And numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A special thank you to Dr. Sigurds Janners and the staff on the 2nd Floor for the wonder care given to Stewart over the years.
Friends may call at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home on Saturday, August 12, 2017 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, August 12, 2017, with Pastor Tony Laidlaw to officiate.
Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery.
