SOUTH LYON — Janet Hottum Pelton, 74, of South Lyon, passed away July 23, 2017, at Angela Hospice Home Care in Livonia.
She was born January 8, 1943, in Hancock, to the late William and Edna Naasko Antila, and was a 1961 graduate of the Jeffers High School in Painesdale.
She was the beloved wife of Robert Pelton of 14 years; loving mother of Jill Redmon and Lonny (Lee) Hottum; grandmother of Nicholas and Michael Redmon; dear sister of Gerri Kinnun, Gary (Tricia) Naasko and June (Dominic) Guili.
Janet was preceded in death by her siblings, Judy Heikkila, Genevieve Cobe and James Naasko.
Janet worked for Marketing Displays International for 26 years. She is remembered by her family as a loving mother and hard worker. Janet particularly enjoyed gardening, traveling, shopping and loved spending time with her family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at the Mountain View Mortuary in South Range, with Pastor Elmer Liimatta to officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the mortuary. Interment will be in the Toivola Cemetery.
