Obituary: Frank W. Pouttu

Frank W. Pouttu, 62, a resident of Chassell died unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, August 7, 2021.
He was born on November 15, 1958, in Highland Park, MI, a son of Lillian (Pelto) Pouttu and the late Veikko M. Pouttu. As a child, he moved with the family to Tapiola and attended the Doelle School before graduating from Houghton High School with the class of 1976.
Mr. Pouttu had worked for several different companies over the years such as Karvakko Well Drilling and the White Pine Copper Mine. In 1998, he began a career working for Northern Hardwoods in South Range, retiring this past January due to health reasons.
Frank enjoyed the outdoors including hunting, fishing, camping and gardening.
Preceding him in death were his father Veikko Pouttu, and his brother Jack Pouttu.

His life partner: Tracy Smith of Chassell and her children Travis Latvis of L’Anse and Alaina (David) Carlson of Duluth, MN, His sister: Marilyn Pesola of L’Anse and her children Victor Pesola of Detroit and Leanne Pesola of Hubbell; His Mother Lillian Pouttu of Tapiola, his special grand kids Annalyse, Natalie & Emylee Latvis;
numerous cousins and friends.
As requested by the deceased, no service will be held for Frank.
