Edwin “Pudgie” Kauppinen

Edwin “Pudgie” Kauppinen, 69, a resident of Kearsarge passed away at his home on Saturday November 18, 2017.
He was born on June 1, 1948 in Detroit to Edwin E. and Susan (Teddy) Kauppinen.
He attended Calumet High School.
After high school, Edwin enlisted in the United States Navy having served during the Vietnam War.
After being honorably discharged, Edwin began working as a welder. Edwin worked for the Houghton County Road Commission as a welder and driver.
He always enjoyed his morning coffee chats with his friends.
He was an avid outdoorsman, especially cutting wood, hunting, fishing, and 4-wheeling.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Susan Kauppinen, and his granddaughter, Mackenzie Murtomaki.

His special friend and former wife: Patrice Kauppinen of Calumet
His son: Daryl Kauppinen of Calumet
His daughter: Lisa Kauppinen of Calumet
His brother: Ken (Louise) Kauppinen
6 grandchildren: Brett Kauppinen, Austin Moughler, Sam Moughler, Quinten Moughler, Madelyn Moughler, and Kimberly Moughler.
1 great grandson: Michael
And numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Per Edwin’s request, cremation has taken place and private family services were held.
