David Michael Jolley, 55, of Painesdale, lost his 20 year battle with Reiter Syndrome on Monday, October 23, 2017.
David was born in Detroit on June 8, 1962, the son of Karen Bukovich and Carl Roger Jolley.
David was a graduate of Jeffers High School, Class of 1980. After high school, David enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served for three years in Germany.
While living in the Detroit area, David worked several jobs. One of his favorite was working at “New York New York”, a nightclub where David met many celebrities and famous rock groups, and worked with his brother, Carl.
David was forced into retiring from work in 1997 due to his diagnosis. He relocated to Painesdale.
David was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers, his favorite player being Justin Verlander. He was also a lover of all cats and dogs, and they all loved David!
David was preceded in death by his father, Carl; his paternal grandparents, Bill and Florence Jolley; his maternal grandparents, Mike Bukovich, Sr. and Florence Metsa; his uncles, Bobo, Butch and JoeJoe; his aunt, Janie; and many of his furry loved ones, Rufus, Nikki, Jake, Max, Sonic, Becky, Scrappy and Zena.
David is survived by his mother, Karen Bukovich Jolley and his step-father, Al Autio, both of Painesdale; his sister, Gina Snell and his “favorite brother-in-law”, Duane Snell of Greer, S.C.; his brother, Carl Jolley and his wife, Connie of Roseville, Mich; a niece, Kristen (Ian) Goddard and their children, Bree, Elsa, Cason and Ellet of Greer, S.C.; his nephew, Ryan Snell and his girlfriend of Greer, S.C.; his grandma, Freda Bukovich of Houghton; aunts, Carol and Mickey; uncles, Mark and Jocko; several more aunts, uncles, cousins; his best friend, Kristin, her father Floyd and her aunt, Alice; as well as many friends; and his furry loved ones, Rusty and Nova.
Graveside services for David M. Jolley, and Karen Jolley who died April 2, 2020, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday July 18, 2020, at the Mountain View Cemetery in South Range with Vicar Micah Cavaleri to officiate. Military rites for David will be conducted by the Copper Country Veteran’s Association.
