Clarence Raymond Lenich, 92, formerly of Laurium, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at the Ocean Breeze Estates Assisted Living facility in Camarillo, California, where he had been a resident since January 18, 2017.
He was born to Laurence and Frances (Vidosh) Lenich on January 2, 1925. Clarence was a lifelong Copper Country resident before moving to Phoenix, Arizona, in 2009 and then to Oxnard, California, in 2011.
Clarence married Ruth Jean Shelson on June 7, 1952. She preceded him in death on December 13, 2003.
He was a WWII Army veteran. He was a carpenter for many years and was also employed by Michigan Technological University, retiring after 10 years of service.
Clarence was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Calumet. He loved crossword puzzles, wood working and fishing.
Clarence is also preceded in death by his parents and 11 siblings.
Surviving are his daughters, Mary Senecal of Oxnard, California, and Nancy (John) Hermeler of Las Vegas, Nevada; granddaughters, Molly Senecal (Brent Jolley) of Granite Bay, California, and Anna Senecal (Sam Campbell) of Jackson Hole, Wyoming; great-grandchildren, Shelby Khatami, Eve Khatami and Darius (DJ) Khatami; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 15, 2017, at Sacred Heart Church with Fr. Corbin Eddy officiating, with a church luncheon to follow. Friends may call at the Ryan Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 14, 2017, with a Vigil Service at 7 p.m.
Interment will be at the Lakeview Cemetery following the luncheon.
