Cheryl Ann Suojanen, age 60 of Zeba, MI passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at her home.
She was born August 13, 1957 in L’Anse, MI daughter of Wayne and Helen (Miller) Koski. Cheryl grew up in Zeba and graduated from L’Anse High School in 1975 and then went to biimiijii Minnesota for general studies. She worked construction for KBIC for 25 years; then for Celotex for 15 years, retiring in 1993.
Cheryl was a member of KBIC and Ojibwa Seniors. She was a supervisor at KBIC Summer Youth Camp, and a traditional woman dancer. Cheryl life-long softball player with the Baraga County Women’s Softball league, and the bowling league. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are her children, Sarah (Douglas) Garver of Ishpeming, Yancy (Sarah) DeCota of Zeba, John Wayne (Brittanee) DeCota of Zeba; siblings, Richard (Miina) Holappa of Baraga, Carol Koski of Zeba, Butch (Gail) Koski of Zeba; 11 grandchildren; and 3 grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents; special friend Mark Bruder; and brother Wayne “Tinker” Koski.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 14st from 11-1 p.m. at the KBIC Zeba Hall. A traditional funeral ceremony will be held at 1:00 p.m. with burial to follow in the Pinery Cemetery. Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
