Houghton
Charlotte Anne Daavettila passed away in the morning of September 26, 2017.
Charlotte was born November 9, 1937 to Iver and Anna Lassila in Detroit, Michigan.
After graduating from High School she worked for Chrysler Motor. She enjoyed a vacation trip to Europe. She married Don Daavettila on September 13, 1958, in Detroit.
The family moved to Houghton, MI in the fall of 1964. After her children grew up she worked at the Sleeman flower shop where she just loved working with people and flowers. Quilting was another of her special favorite pastimes.

Mary Susan Robinson who passed away in June of 2009 in Anchorage, AK.
Nancy Anne (David Kiilunen) of Brighton, MI.
William Iver (Lynette Eskola) of Howell, MI.
Dorothy Carol (Jay Ruohonen) of Atlantic Mine, MI.
Sally Ruth (Jeff Lewis) of Delano, MN.
Carl John (Sita McInally) of Jackson, WY.
Laura Jane (Guy Hembroff) of Atlantic Mine, MI.
Don and Charlotte have 35 grandchildren and at this time have 25 great grandchildren. Her family and many others remember Charlotte’s loving nature and great cooking.
During the final 8 plus years of her life, due to Alzheimers, she became a resident of the Houghton County Medical Care Facility. Our entire family deeply appreciates the loving care she received at the HCMCF. Charlotte’s siblings are Mary Jo Granroth of the Houghton Canal area, and the late John Lassila of Houghton, the late Martin Lassila (Ginger) of Pinckney, MI.
Charlotte was a member of the First Apostolic Lutheran Church of Houghton.
The visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 8pm, and Friday at 10:00 am. The funeral services will be Friday, September 29 at 11:00 am. Both the visitation and funeral will be at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church on Sharon Avenue in Houghton.
