Carol Garrison

Hancock

     Carol Garrison, 74, a resident of Hancock passed away at her home Wednesday September 20, 2017, peacefully in her sleep.

     She was born on September 29, 1942, in Chicago, IL, a daughter of the late Harry and Antionette (Swiadek) Ohler.  Carol was raised in Cicero, IL, and was a graduate of the Morton East High School with the class of 1960.

     She was united in marriage to Wayne Jensik.  The couple had two children, but parted ways after a while.

     Carol had worked as a secretary for most of her life and retired as a legal secretary.

     Than later in life pursued and earned an associate’s degree in arts and science.  She enjoyed many adventurous travels to various parts of the United States and then moved to make her home in the Copper Country 15 years ago to be closer to her son and two grandchildren.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, extended family and friends.  Many called her mom, grandma, and most wonderful friend through her life Her greatest joy was time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was very giving and lovingly helped others.  She was someone everyone could count on.

     She loved working on creative projects and always surprising and giving everyone special little gifts to make their days brighter.

     Surviving are:

          Her children: Kelly (Doug Hylton) Jensik of Chassell

                               Jeffrey Jensik of Hancock

          Her grandsons: Jeffrey Jr. and Matthew

          Her sister: Joann (Joe) Chevatal of AZ

          Her brother: Al (Brenda) Ohler of Kankakee, IL

          Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

          Kathy (Richard) Koski, Kimmie (Matt Peterson) Hylton, Robert (Amy) Voght, Matt (Tiffany) Friisvall, Tim (Kristen Niemela) Hylton, Michael (Sara Perrault) Hylton, Ashton, Emma, Iziah, Liam, Brody, Leighla, Hunter & Michael Jr.

     A memorial service for Carol will be held at 4pm on her birthday Friday September 29, 2017 to celebrate her wonderful adventurous life, at the Chassell VFW Post #6507.  Friends may call from 4 to 8 pm, Friday September 29, 2017 at the Chassell VFW Post #6507.

          In lieu of other expressions of sympathy the family suggests that memorials be given to COPD research or the Chassell VFW Post #6507 in memory of Carol Garrison.
