Arlene Bykkonen, 65, a resident of Calumet passed away, after a courageous 5 year battle with cancer, on Tuesday November 7, 2017 at Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital in Laurium.
She was born on August 10, 1952 to Henry and Helen (Hein) Honold in Laurium.
Arlene attended Calumet High School and graduated with the Class of 1970.
On May 13th, 1972 she was united in marriage with Ronald Bykkonen.
She enjoyed being a homemaker. She loved being in the kitchen cooking and baking. She enjoyed her vegetable garden and planting flowers.
Arlene enjoyed spending time with her family, especially the apple of her eye, her grandson Oliver.
Arlene is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Helen Honold.
She was a member of the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Laurium.
She is survived by:
Her husband of 45 years, Ronald of Calumet
Her son, Ronald Bykkonen of Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Her daughters:
Amy (Rob) Tarvis of Calumet
Kelly Bykkonen of Calumet
1 grandson, Oliver Johns
1 sister, Mary Lynn Keranen of Laurium
And numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Per Arlene’s wishes, private family services were held.
