Yet Another Buyer for the Keweenaw Mountain Lodge

The Keweenaw Mountain Lodge has yet another buyer. 4 Lambs Properties of Corpus Christi, Texas, which purchased the financially troubled Lodge at auction last week, has turned its purchase rights over to John Mueller, of Austin, Texas. Mueller was the runner-up in the auction bidding.

It’s not known why the change has been made. Keweenaw County officials say the purchase price and all other terms remain the same.

In a press release from Keweenaw County, Mueller says he plans to keep the Lodge and golf course open to the public, while respecting the facility’s heritage.

The full release from Keweenaw County follows:

4 Lambs Properties, LLC of Corpus Christi, Texas, the winning bidder at the auction of the KeweenawMountain Lodge on July 26, 2018, has assigned its interest in the purchase agreement to the secondhighest bidder at the auction, John Mueller of Austin, Texas.

Mr. Mueller’s statement concerning his upcoming acquisition of the Mountain Lodge is as follows: “I am excited about the opportunity that the staff and I have with the Lodge and know there is a lot of work we can do to continue to move the Lodge forward while showing appreciation for the Lodge’s heritage.

The plan is to keep the Lodge and lodging open to the public, keep the golf course operating, and work with the local community to continue to make the Keweenaw a fun, joyful, and adventuresome place to live and visit.

Over the next couple of months, the staff and I will work through the details of the ownership transition of the Lodge so we can keep the operations moving forward smoothly.”

The purchase price and other terms of sale of the Keweenaw Mountain Lodge are not affected by 4 Lambs Properties assignment to Mr. Mueller and the deposits made by 4 Lambs Properties will remain with the escrow agent to be applied to the purchase price at closing.
