Wind Farm Project Moves Forward

The Adams Township wind farm project may be going forward despite objections by residents.

The project developer has indicated that they will comply will the local ordinance not to place a wind turbine within 3,000 feet from an adjacent property line.

The company, Farm Wind, says they have received FAA approval concerning the height of the turbines but several steps still need to be completed.

Those include applying for federal tax credits, negotiating a power purchase agreement with UPPCO, reaching an agreement with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife service regarding bird and bat protection, receiving permits from the DNR and the DEQ, creating a site plan, and getting a permit from Adams Township for the new location of the hub turbine.
