The We Energies Foundation has awarded $100,000 to public safety agencies throughout the Upper Peninsula. We Energies President Beth Straka says the utility company is honored to support the individuals who work tirelessly throughout communities. The 2024 grants from the We Energies Foundation include more than 400,000 dollars to purchase safety equipment and rescue tools for public servants in law enforcement, fire rescue, and emergency medical services for Michigan and Wisconsin. In the upper peninsula, eight agencies will receive funds including the Iron County Central Dispatch, and Sheriff’s Office, the iron river police department, Kingsford’s Public Safety Department, the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office, Nadeau Township, Norway city police, and the Spalding township fire department.
