Vouchers for No-cost LED Light Bulbs Available Saturday at Festival Foods

UPPCO customers who meet income guidelines can receive vouchers good for up to eight LED light bulbs this Saturday at Festival Foods.

This energy-saving program runs from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and is sponsored by the Houghton Energy Efficiency Team and Efficiency UNITED.

LED light bulbs use only about one-fifth the electricity of conventional incandescent bulbs and can last 20 years or more.

People living in apartments can receive vouchers for five bulbs; those living in houses or half-houses qualify for eight.

Income guidelines are 200 percent of the poverty level, ranging from $23,340 for a one-person household up to $80,180 for a family of eight.

Simply bring an UPPCO bill and proof of income to qualify.
