Some school superintendents in Michigan are looking to the governor to veto a bill they say is effectively a gag order on any ballot question 60 days before a vote.
The legislation, which impacts how schools can communicate information on millages and when political campaigns have to disclose their donors, was the last vote in the legislature before they adjourned for the year.
Gladstone and Rapid River Superintendent Jay Kulbertis hopes Governor Rick Snyder vetoes the bill before the year ends.
Kulbertis says it would affect how school districts inform voters about such things as operating millage and bond proposals.
He says the bill flies in the face of helping voters make informed decisions.
