Veterans Get Assistance At Fair

Veterans often have to jump through hoops to get the benefits they are entitled to.

To help them with those hurdles, Congressman Dan Benishek hosted a Veterans Assistance Fair in Houghton Thursday.

This is the second of two fairs held in the Upper Peninsula this week, the first being in Ironwood on Monday.

Representatives from various veterans’ organizations were on hand to help with filing claims and getting access to benefits.

Benishek has focused much of his attention on veteran’s issues while in Congress, including his bill to hold VA personnel accountable which recently passed the U.S. House.

But it’s events like these that reach out to veterans on a one to one basis.
